Greetings:

On behalf of all the volunteer buglers at Bugles Across America, our condolences and prayers are certainly extended to your family. We are honored that you have chosen us to provide honors for your loved one. Because of that, we want to make certain that your request for a bugler goes out to our volunteers. The system is designed to work for you, but for your family’s protection, it is also designed to keep unwanted persons from being involved in this request.

The Message of the Four Chaplains Today marks the 67th Anniversary
The true story of the four chaplains is in print for all to read and see how four men gave their lives so others could live. This is another one of those stories of the people from the Great Generation.

One of our members and a good friend of mine and yours co authored the book Sea of Glory . His name is Ken Wales and one of the sons of one of the four chaplains David Poling.

Later this month in central Florida State Director John Murphy will honor seven Gold Star Mom's and do a tribute to the Four Chaplains.

Sound Taps for the Four Chaplains Anniversary
http://www.fourchaplains.org/story.html
Learn about the honorable service of Chaplains Goode, Fox, Polling, and Washington who went down with their ship on February 2, 1943, while helping fellow crew members. If you have a chance to do so sound Taps in their memory and spread the word about these dedicated men who sacrificed everything for the good of mankind. There is a book to buy if you have interest and a movie is in the making.

Thanks for all you do to honor our veterans. Fly the flag and God bless.

Sunday night was the first meeting for Taps 150
Board members from around the country gathered to start a program to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Taps. Officers were elected and Bugles Across America will be playing a big part in the program. We are already the largest donor to the project to date.

The program goes along with what BAA is all about as we have asked players form California to Maine to think of ways to celebrate the year with Anniversary projects,

Please check out the Facebook and websites to stay current. Should you have suggestions on fund raising or ideas in general please let us know. go to www.taps150.org

Oklahoma Director Needs Your Prayers
Oklahoma Director Jay Richardson's girlfriend, told us that he is in intensive care, and 80% NOT expected to live; with a serious MRSA infection, and she is asking for prayer for him. Please keep him and his whole family in prayer during this difficult time.

Dear Lord, we ask your mercy and love for Jay as he is grasping for life. Lord, give him your strenth, your healing and thank you for using him for our veteran heroes. Now God we look to you for guidance for one of our own. Thank you for listening great creator.

Note: The latest news I got from Ellen on Jay yesterday was not good; the doctors think the infection is in Jay's heart, but we keep praying, and it is day by day. Keep the Faith

All we can do is tell our story
I have posted on here many good things that have happened since being active with Bugles Across America, but to be fair and equitable I am reminded of some realities.
Yesterday I found a man who was being put to rest who was a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps. His accolades loaded his obituary so I called the funeral home to inquire about offering live Taps. Sadly, the director in charge of the service told me that she had contacted the military and that they would be coming to do the honors. When I spoke to her about our involvement and how we worked with the DOD and Veterans affairs, she still declined my offer to come and provide live Taps.
